Fabrics The Recovery
The roots of Los Recoveros must be directly assembled with the passing of daily life in Cieza in the last seven decades. It was the 1950s of the last century, when the municipality slightly exceeded 23,000 inhabitants, and was facing a significant economic takeoff thanks to an esparto industry that was acquiring a certain economic relevance with a strong impact on the urban structure, to the point of becoming a the first work center of this type of industry nationwide.
a simple family
Formed by parents and two children, they started what is now Tejidos El Recovero, SA Together with their parents, Miguel and Tomás soon had to start working. Obtaining studies at that time was difficult since the need was imposed and everyone had to "put their shoulders together" to be able to move on.
They were engaged in the trade of textile goods, exchanging them for animals (chicken, rabbits...), wheat, eggs, etc. where the nickname comes from, since the recova was called this transit of merchandise.
They were prospering and in 1956, they decided to set up a small fabric shop in a room in their house, where customers came and some of them had to go through the fields to pick up the merchandise that was the object of the exchange, for quickly, a year later. The following day, they managed to get hold of the transfer of a small store where they began to sell exclusively goods, and the little clothing that existed at that time, giving great payment facilities to customers who needed them so much at the time, and which has been a sign of identity of Tejidos Los Recoveros.
From there, the store and the business grew, reaching more than 30 workers, and with it the need to move to a new location. In 1983, a large store of more than 2,000 square meters was built where Tejidos El Recovero is currently located, which has become the largest store in Cieza.
